Spring top sewalong 2012

Well, this Spring Top Sewalong is the little kick I needed to finilly sew something for myself. I´m hoping I will make maximum tops allowed, and that is 4. If you are curious to find out more about this sewalong go here, on Made by Rea  .

For this first week I made Kimono Sleeves Tunic

I created my own pattern that is very simple. If you are interested I will share it. I like it so much I will sew another tunic like this, already have a perfect fabric for it. The fabric for this was viscose.

 Happy creating!

Classy stitch markers

I started to knitt and to crochet two years ago but I still didn´t have stitch markers. Then I got the idea how to use some of my broken jewelry. It was quick and easy.

This is what you will need if you want to do it yourself:

And now you just have to:

There you have it and now you can knit/crochet with style:-)

Happy creating!

PicMonkey - have you try it?

As you all probably already know, Picnik (which was my personal favorite free photo editor) is closing down in April :-(

The good news is I've found an awesome new site that was started by creators of Picnic.com.

It´s really simple, really really cute and it´s free.
Options are no different from the options offered by Picnik, but everything looks simpler to use.
These are some options:
*Basic: crop, rotate, exposure, resize, colours
  *Effects, so many of them
*Touch Ups...like wrinkle remover, red eye remover and even weight loss!!
  *Add text and stickers
  *Borders...add frames, rounded corners etc
Go there and try it! You won't be disappointed!

Crochet leg warmers pattern

Since I´ve learned how to crochet a few month ago, I´ve been really enjoying in this "take it anywhere with you" craft. This leg warmers were so sweet, I couldn´t resist to share it with you. It´s pretty easy and takes little time to make so it´s perfect even for beginners. It's a good first project!
I am not going to go to the basics of crochet. First of all, I am a beginner myself and second, there are really good crochet lessons out there in the blogland. My favorite is Crochet school at Craftyminx! It is free and it is REALLY REALLY GREAT! So, go there!

Back to my leggins...
Please bear with me as I am not a crochet pattern writer and this is actually first crochet pattern I have written. If you notice something that might improve the pattern, please speak up. I would love to edit it to make it better.

Here it goes:

Size: 4-7 years, lower circumference 8 in. (20.5 cm), middle circumference 9 in. (23.5 cm), finished length 11 in. (28 cm)
Yarn: 1 skein
Hook: Size G
Stitches: sc, hdc
ch. 27
Round 1: Sc in first chain, forming a loop and sc in next 26, join with sl st in top of beginning ch (27)

Round 2-3: Ch. 2 turn, hdc in each st around, join with sl st in top of beginning ch(27)
Round 4: Ch. 2, turn, hdc in next 7 st`s, 2hdc in next, hdc in next 8 st`s, 2hdc in next, hdc in next 8 st`s, 2hdc in next, join with sl st in top of beginning ch(30)
Round 5-23: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each hdc around; join with sl st in top of turning ch(30)

Round 24: Ch 2, turn, hdc in next 7 st’s, hdc decrease, hdc in next 8 st’s, hdc decrease, hdc in next 8 st’s, hdc decrease(27)

Round 25: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st around, join with sl st in top of beginning ch(27)

Round 26. Ch 1, turn, sc in each st around, join with sl st in top of beginning ch(27)
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Now you have to add bobbles.
I made mine with 1 inch spacing between. This is how you´re going to do it:
Insert a hook in a place you want to make a bobble:
Ch3, 4dc in the same st, leaving the last loop of each stitch on the hook. Yarn over and draw a loop through all 5 loops on the hook.

Weave in all your tails...and you're done!
